Law360 Reports on Joe Rillotta's Move to Drinker Biddle

Washington, D.C. partner Joe Rillotta was profiled in Law360 following his recent move to Drinker Biddle. Joe told Law360 that he decided to join Drinker because of the firm’s reputation, dynamic culture and growing litigation and white collar practices.

Prior to joining the firm, Joe was an attorney with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where he advised the agency when it faced allegations of political bias and personnel misconduct in the treatment of organizations applying for tax-exempt status. Prior to his time at the IRS, he spent six years in the Tax Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he investigated and prosecuted a broad range of tax and financial crimes.

In the article, Joe discussed his decision to return to private practice. “At the end of the day, there’s something gratifying about helping a client out of a problem,” he said. “Often, in my world, these are some of the more serious problems that clients come across and it’s intimidating for someone who doesn’t do it every day to find themselves opposite a federal law enforcement agent or prosecutor. So, being able to help a client navigate that is a tremendously satisfying thing.”
