Alicia Hickok Quoted in Law360 on Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s ruling in Commonwealth v. Lynn.

Philadelphia partner Alicia Hickok was quoted in a Law360 article titled, “The Biggest Pa. Court Decisions of 2015: Midyear Report.” The article discussed the major cases in Pennsylvania that have occurred in the first half of 2015.

Alicia was quoted regarding the Commonwealth v. Lynn case, in which the Pennsylvania Supreme Court reinstated a child endangerment conviction against a monsignor.  The Court ruled that Monsignor William Lynn could be found guilty, despite the fact that he had not personally supervised any of the victimized children.

Alicia commented on the potentially far-reaching impact of the Court’s reasoning:  “Allowing somebody to have criminal liability for a failure to fulfill a stewardship obligation is something that really could cross that civil-criminal line.”
