Allen Farber Represents Commercial Brokers in “Seismic” Industry Move

Washington, D.C., partner Allen Farber, a member of the Litigation Practice Group, negotiated the move of more than 35 New England-based capital markets, leasing and sales brokers, and approximately 25 other analysts and support staff, from Cushman & Wakefield to competitor Newmark Grubb Knight Frank.  The move was described by one industry publication as “a seismic shift in New England’s Capital Markets arena.”

The Wall Street Journal characterized the move as one of the “brokerage industry’s biggest battles” this year.  The investment sales team, led by Robert E. Griffin, Jr., Edward C. Maher, Jr., and Matthew E. Pullen, exceeded more than $7 billion in transactions and several billions of dollars more in recapitalizations or debt and structured finance agreements in 2014.

Allen Farber represents real estate agents and brokers throughout the country in negotiations with virtually all of the major companies.  The Boston move was one of the largest and most significant in the industry in many years.
