Bennett B. Borden Named SmartCEO 2014 Washington Power Player of the Year

Washington, D.C., partner Bennett B. Borden was honored as a Power Player of the Year at the Washington SmartCEO Power Players Awards on September 16.

The Power Players Awards program honors the region’s most enterprising attorneys, bankers and accountants for their leadership, accomplishment, innovation and success. Power Players represent the best and brightest in the region — the impact players that CEOs can count on to help grow their businesses. An independent committee of local business leaders evaluates the applications and chooses the Power Players based on the quality of nominations submitted.

Out of 45 Power Players profiled in the September/October issue of SmartCEO magazine, 15 Power Players of the Year were announced live at the September 16 event, with more than 250 business professionals and executives in attendance.

In Bennett’s finalist profile, SmartCEO noted: “What distinguishes Bennett B. Borden is his understanding and use of electronic information. Borden has a unique perspective on information, having come out of the intelligence community before attending law school. He has worked with data scientists to develop advanced technologies to effectively search and identify relevant information, helping to reduce the cost and burden of electronic discovery for his clients.”

And: “Borden has worked for more than a decade to lead the legal and technology industries to develop new capabilities and apply them in unique ways. As a result, he is a highly regarded and sought-after speaker and teacher.”
