Bob Stoll Quoted in October 2014 The Recorder

Washington, D.C., partner Bob Stoll commented on the continued search for a new United States Patent and Trademark Office Director in a recent article in The Recorder. The article, titled, “Eyes on Lee as White House nears PTO Pick,” discussed why current PTO Deputy Director and interim Director Michelle Lee appears to be the most likely candidate.

Bob said he wasn't sure who would be nominated, but that he thinks “it's important to get somebody in the position now."

He added that a permanent director is in a better position to negotiate IP agreements with other countries, and in Washington "you've got more say and sway when you've got the imprimatur of Senate confirmation."
