Bob Stoll Quoted in Law360 on USPTO Deputy Director Decision
Washington, D.C., partner Bob Stoll was quoted in an article titled, “Attorneys Praise Rumored Choice Michelle Lee for USPTO Chief,” in Law360.
The article discussed the rumor that the White House is considering making the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Deputy Director, Michelle Lee the agency's permanent leader. Several attorneys are saying that she is an excellent choice who would bring stability to an office that has not had an official chief for nearly two years.
Lee joined the USPTO as the first director of its Silicon Valley satellite office in 2012 and became the deputy director of the entire agency in January. She has been acting as director since then because the White House has not named a permanent USPTO director since David Kappos left the post in January 2013.
Bob described Michelle Lee as a “very capable patent expert” who is likely to be nominated because there is a dwindling number of people who would be interested in taking the job for only about two years.
