Faegre Baker Daniels' Commitment to Diversity Recognized by Marion County Bar Association

On August 23, 2013, Faegre Baker Daniels LLP received the Marion County (Indiana) Bar Association's Commitment to Diversity Award at the group's Kuykendall-Conn Awards Banquet.

Faegre Baker Daniels was recognized for its Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship Program, which demonstrates the firm's commitment to diversify the legal profession. FaegreBD annually awards four $10,000 fellowships to second-year law students who demonstrate a commitment to contribute meaningfully to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Recipients join the firm's summer program and receive mentoring and networking opportunities with FaegreBD lawyers and within the broader legal communities.

In the past six years, 80 percent of Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship recipients received an offer to join Faegre Baker Daniels as an attorney upon graduation from law school.

The Hon. Clayton A. Graham of the Marion Superior Court's Criminal Division presented the Commitment to Diversity award to Murray Clark, office leader of FaegreBD's Indianapolis locations. The ceremony also included remarks by Karen Freeman-Wilson, mayor of Gary, Indiana.

The Marion County Bar Association was founded in 1925 to address injustices largely toward African-Americans. It is Marion County's only network of predominately African-American attorneys and judges. The group is committed to enhancing the professional development of minority attorneys within the Indianapolis legal community.
