Faegre Baker Daniels was honored with a Special Recognition Award at The Advocates for Human Rights' annual awards dinner June 6. The firm was recognized for its long record of pro bono service in support of justice, human rights and the rule of law in the United States and around the world, and for its leadership of innovative pro bono projects to improve access to justice.
In presenting the award, The Advocates noted the firm's partnership with the organization on the Africa Advocacy Project, organized in 2012 to support frontline human rights defenders and civil society organizations in Africa.
More than 130 attorneys, paralegals, consultants and staff from 11 offices have contributed nearly 7,000 pro bono hours to research human rights conditions and conduct in-country fact finding to determine pro bono needs.
"We are honored and humbled to be recognized by The Advocates for Human Rights." said FaegreBD managing partner Andrew Humphrey. "Over the course of almost three decades, the organization has advanced the cause of human rights around the world, and we are grateful to have been a part of that important work."
