Bob Stoll Quoted in Marketplace Article on Patent Trolls

Washington, D.C. partner Bob Stoll was quoted in a recent Martketplace article.  The article, titled, “You May Be Surprised at Who Is a Patent Troll,” discussed the financial repercussions that “patent trolls” are having on the economy – costing U.S. businesses $29 billion in 2011, according to a study from Boston University.

Bob talks about how regulating trollish behavior is tricky.  He says “It’s really tough to tell exactly what a patent troll is, because there are many major U.S. companies that do not exercise all of their patents and assert those patents against other companies.”
