Faegre Drinker Named a 2023 ‘Legal Services Innovation’ Finalist by The American Lawyer

Faegre Drinker has been recognized by The American Lawyer as a 2023 “Legal Services Innovation” award finalist. Each year, The American Lawyer Industry Awards honor “the best of the best across all of what the profession holds dear.”

The firm was recognized as a “Legal Services Innovation” finalist for its client diversity (D&I) dashboard. This award highlights law firms that have made significant strides in the last two years to innovate how it delivers legal services. Specifically, this award honors law firms that founded innovative ways to enhance the way it does business and deliver higher value to clients.

Faegre Drinker’s D&I dashboard, piloted in 2022 and modeled after the ABA’s Resolution 113 Model Diversity Survey’s aggregate demographic data of client teams, acts as a “road map” for developing demographically diverse teams and to visualize where we have been, where we are and where we are going relative to our shared D&I values. In response to the increased engagement with clients who track and tie outside counsel performance to specific goals that correspond with improving demographic balance of teams performing work, the D&I dashboard was created.

Today, the customized, real-time automated client D&I dashboards are the tangible result that combines D&I data analytics using an interdisciplinary approach that leverages innovation, accountability and intentionality to address reporting functions and to build skills among client leaders. After 18 months of offering reports to nearly 100 partners, we enhanced our ability to be accountable, innovative and intentional with clients, thus elevating our capacity to be collaborative, responsive, effective and impactful.

The 2023 American Lawyer Industry Award finalist will be honored at the annual gala on Nov. 15 at Ciprianis in New York City.
