Faegre Drinker Recognized by Seramount as ‘2023 Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity’ Winner

Faegre Drinker has been recognized by Seramount as a “2023 Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity” winner. Each year, Seramount surveys law firms to assess how they utilize best practices to recruit, retain, develop and advance attorneys who are women, people of color and those from under-represented groups.

Seramount’s “2023 Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity” application included more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women, people of color and those from other underrepresented groups. Questions about family-friendly benefits and mentoring and sponsorship participation were also included.

Faegre Drinker holds itself accountable for progress in building a diverse workforce. In 2023, Faegre Drinker elected its first female chair, Gina Kastel, supported with an executive leadership team that is more than 70% female. The firm’s commitment to the recruitment, retention and advancement of women and diverse attorneys is intentional and sustained, including efforts from a firm-wide advisory committee led by Chief Diversity Officer Maria Lewis and a full-time diversity staff, as well as Women Forward, the firm’s women’s committee.

The firm was also recognized by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity as one of only 89 member organizations to receive both the 2022 “Top Performer” and “Compass Award” designations for its strong commitment to building a more diverse organization and a more inclusive legal profession. In addition, Faegre Drinker is proud to be recognized by Diversity Lab as a Mansfield Certified Plus firm — one of the “trailblazing law firms” that demonstrate meaningful progress in creating diverse leadership teams.
